Recalls and Technical Service Bulletins
Is that problem with your vehicle driving you crazy day after day? Do you keep taking it back to the dealer for repairs only to find the problems cropping up again and again? You are not alone?
All vehicle manufacturers have some form of Technical Service Bulletins which they provide to their dealerships and independent mechanics to assist in repairs. These bulletins are not broadcast to the general public and have not risen to the level of a full recall. However, they can provide information about serious problems which can affect thousands of cars in a model line throughout the country. Some vehicle models can have over 100 service bulletins. If you are thinking, what else can go wrong with my car, these bulletins could provide a clue and assist in your car lemon law case.
If you see a notation on your repair records that a repair was done "per TSB," this is an indication that the dealer consulted a service bulletin. Ask for a copy or at a minimum, get the number of the bulletin. These documents can provide great evidence for your auto lemon law case.
Information regarding vehicle TSB's and recalls can also be found at All Data or from the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration.
